In Barcelona at the end of the year? We explain where to go to celebrate the last minutes of 2017 and the first of 2018.
One more year the María Cristina Avenue dresses up to welcome a New Year. Very close to Hotel Madanis, only about 20 minutes away on foot, is Plaza España, a space where all those who want to witness the wonderful music, water, fire and color show that takes place every year in Montjüic Mountain.
With the Magic Fountain and the National Palace in the background from 9:30 pm you can see projections of other shows made in previous years in that same location, as well as the choreography of the Magic Fountain especially made to celebrate the change of the year.
It is from 11:30pm hours that you can see the pyromusical show that this year has been prepared to welcome the 2018 and dismiss as it deserves to 2017. The protagonists of the show will be the famous 12 grapes that we traditionally eat in Spain to the rhythm of the 12 strokes that mark the midnight of December 31.

Start time: 23:30 hours
Place: Plaza España and Avenida María Cristina
It is recommended to arrive at Plaza España and María Cristina Avenue area about 30 minutes before the start of the show, in order to have a good place to see it, because usually it is so crowded.
Add that throughout the night the subway service runs uninterrupted to allow anyone who wants to move safely and easily during a night as special as this.
